Vaccinations, parasite testing and control, and proper nutrition are all vital for your pet to live a long, happy and healthy life.

Internal Medicine Services

When your pet is ill, we strive to provide timely and accurate diagnosis combined with a proper treatment plan to assist in a speedy recovery.

Dentistry

Good oral health plays a major role in good overall health and wellbeing for your pets. Conversely, poor oral health can contribute and even cause many significant disease processes such as heart and kidney disease.

Elective Surgery

We provide a wide range or soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries utilizing state-of-the-art anesthesia and monitoring equipment. From spays and neuters to fracture repair and joint reconstructions, we strive to maximize safety and outcome while minimizing inherent risks.

X-Rays

Advanced imaging using our new digital imaging system provides high quality diagnostic assistance. This advanced system allows us to minimize radiation exposure while yielding high quality images of your pet.

Ultrasound

This great tool provides us with additional imaging capabilities for enhanced diagnostics and pregnancy detection.

In-House Laboratory

We are able to perform many laboratory tests right in our hospital including serum chemistries, complete blood counts, parasite testing, thyroid testing, tests for some specific diseases, and urinalysis. We also have access to a full range of more advanced diagnostic tests through our reference laboratory.

Microchipping

Microchips are now the standard for pet identification and lost pet retrieval. Installing a chip is a nearly painless procedure that can be performed without anesthesia during a regular office visit.

Emergencies and Critical Care

We are happy to see your pet in the event of an emergency during office hours. Trauma cases and emergencies on seen on a priority basis without an appointment. If possible, please call ahead to let us know you are coming. Our after hours emergencies are handled by the Regional Emergency Animal Care Hospital (REACH). They are open from 5PM to 8AM weekdays and 24 hours a day on weekends and holidays with a full and highly trained staff to deal with your emergent needs and intensive care. Full Service Pharmacy

We carry a full line of prescription and non-prescription drugs for all of your pets needs. In most cases there is no need for you to have a prescription filled at a pharmacy. We can save you a trip by filling your needs here.

Nutrition and Pet Care Products

We carry a full line of Purina Veterinary Diet, ProPlan and Hill’s Prescription Diet Products to meet any special nutritional needs. We also carry a complete spectrum of shampoos, flea and tick products, collars and leashes, and dietary supplements.

Health Certificates and Travel Needs

If your pet or horse is traveling across state lines, you will need proper legal documentation of good health and vaccinations. Some pets also need medication to prevent motion sickness and anxiety during travel.

Hospitalization

Sometimes your pet is too ill to be cared for at home or needs specialized care. Our doctors and staff can provide that needed care here at JAH.

Boarding

When you are going out of town and need someone to care for your pets, we can help. We provide boarding for our patients at JAH. Remember to call for a reservation as we tend to fill up, especially around holidays.

Equine Services

Dr. Paul Bevilacqua is here to help with your horse needs, too. From preventative services like vaccinations, Coggins testing and parasite control, to lameness examinations, to pregnancy diagnosis and reproductive work, we offer a wide range of equine services. Equine services available Mon & Wed 3-5:30 by appointment.
